ByDesignSPC© is a comprehensive Production Control,
TQM, and ISO support System. By its nature, it is proactive in establishing

interruptions, and corrective actions.

(time, and high overhead) to it. ByDesignSPC is a hosted, web based system. You
do not manage the technology you simply - use it. This is like any other software
except it does not carry the hidden costs and baggage typically associated with
software systems. It's that simple, just the way it should be. You stay focused
on your core expertise!

The comprehensive logic of the system supports the overall Quality and Production
processes. Checks and balances related to Gauge management is just one part of the
Quality control in production.
Gauge and Standard:
There are primary check and balances here.

Each time a job is activated
a Gauge validation and Machine maintenance check is required.
Gauges and Standards have a primary schedule for calibration/review.
Any Gauge or Standard beyond this date will not be permitted to be used in production.

Scheduled Calibrations
(Gauges and Standards) whether done externally or internally, have a record noting
when and where the calibrations were completed.
Quality Control:
Quality Assurance is woven into the system. Your Quality Team may
optionally
enter notes for each part / each dimension to
convey
critical information not contained on the drawing. The machinist will be
able to review this information at any time. This information is part of what your
machinists see as they check their work.
Furthermore:

Each part as you would
expect, requires the dimensions, and their tolerances to be entered.

Out of tolerance readings
provide
immediate feedback to the operator.

Quality production notes
may be applied per dimension, and are visible to the machinist at each reading for
consistency of production.

Daily Production levels
(Good count / Scrap count). This information can be used to modify the production
process where possible. The down-line machining processes are able to see the quantity
of unfinished parts they will have to work on. This information should be monitored
by a plant supervisor for relevant input.
Since the system is web based, the monitoring may be done from anywhere (local
or remote). All readings are kept forever in history and may be reviewed as needed.
Job Management:
One station may control one or more operators,
for one or more jobs. This allows for a central reading location for consistency
should you have a limited number of workstations.
Production Levels:
Daily totals are entered per operator, per processing event. These are visible to
the floor manager.
Communications:
A web based Instant Messaging system, closed to the public but available to all
company locations, is an integral part of the system. Although, Email-like in appearance,
it does not use email technology and is a completely self contained archive
system.
